Hairfall and graying
I am 31 and I have been having hairfall for 1.5 years. My ferritin levels were low (14) when it was diagnosed and I started taking iron and after almost 6 months of taking it ,my ferritin levels jumped to 50 and hairfall stopped. It continued like that for 2 months, and after that the hairfall started again. But this time my ferritin level was at 50 even if I have pcod and heavy menstrual periods . After a month ferritin becomes 60 but hairfall does not stop yet also during this hair turned gray

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin.
