Hair loss in patches
I recently noticed that i have tremendous hair loss. 2 days back, saw a big patch in the scalp, with no hair at all (smooth surface). I used to have really thick hair. No one in our family has this problem.

You need to consult a dermatologist to diagnose the kind of Alopecia.  The treatment and prognosis depends on the trichoscopic findings. I would urge you to get it examined at the earliest.  The doctor may want some blood tests and may suggest a biopsy if needed.
