Hair fall & Skin allergy
Hello Doctor, I want to discuss 2 problems here. One, I have severe hair fall these days. Previously I was living in Chennai and for the past 3 and half yrs in Bangalore. When I was in Chennai i had hair fall but after coming to Bangalore the amount of hair fall has increased to which my hair is becoming thinner day by day. I wash my hair twice a week to keep it dirt free. Can please suggest any way to regain my hair strength. Second, since childhood I m very allergic to mosquitoes due to which if have scars all over my hands and legs and upper back. In sleep I scratch it also due to which i feel irritation when i get up in the morning. I try to keep myself away from mosquitoes but unfortunately I m not able to do that. I apply odomos and keep all-out and do what not. Due to this my skin looks dirty. I kindly request you to suggest a solution to which so that i can look better. Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks for the query. FPB is an increasing problem in today's society. Hair care is a daily ritual shaped by age, gender and internal health. The treatment typically consists of topical lotion (Minoxidil). Based on the cause of hair loss, certain specific medications can also be started. It also depends on the age of the patient and if planning f or pregnancy or not. Various issues need to be decided before initiating the treatment. The dosage and duration is decided by your dermatologist. You need to be patient with the treatment protocol as it takes months to see initial improvement. Certain Dermatologists supplement biotin, hair serum and advice procedures like PRP therapy which may accelerate the rate of hair growth. PRP needs multiple sessions roughly at 6 weeks intervals. PRP therapy is increasingly being accepted by dermatologists all over the world. Apart from active pharmaceutical medicines, a healthy diet and lifestyle is mandatory to achieve results. About your skin, use a good moisturiser and try to be in mosquito nets at sleep time
Next Steps
Start on biotin supplements and food rich in iron content. Use a milder shampoo and consider frequent shampooing and conditioning.

Hi! Thanks for your query. 1. Losing your hair can do serious damage to your self-esteem. But luckily, there are plenty of options to help you fight it. Hair loss is very common these days because of increased stress, nutritional deficiencies, lack of exercise and increase intake of junk food. Other causes of hair fall could be genetic, hormonal imbalances, under-active thyroid gland, and insufficient blood circulation in the scalp. There are many treatment options for hair loss including medications, home remedies. There are various over the counter medications available for preventing hair loss, but you need the ones most suitable to your hair type to get effective results.  Home remedies would include oiling your hair more often, include Amla/Indian gooseberry in your diet to promote new hair growth, apple cider vinegar can be effective to control hair fall. 2. You seem to have a sensitive skin as well. Try to keep your skin moisturized and supple. Apply a heavy moisturizer at night. Wear full sleeves clothes at night. Procedures like spot laser can take care of old marks.
Next Steps
See a Dermatologist personally and start proper treatment.
