Hair fall & itchy scalp
Hello, I have been suffering from continuous dandruff and highly itchy scalp from a long time. And in the span of two years, my hair has shed a lot. I've consulted other doctors who call this condition as seborrheic dermatitis. Symptoms: 1. White/yellowish grainy dandruff 2. Dandruff grains are attached to hair strands and to the root of hair 3. Scalp gets oily and greasy very fast (gets greasy the next day after shampoo) 4. Acne buildup on the scalp 5. Highly itchy scalp Current treatment: 1. Hair4u serum everyday 2. Vitamin 12 everyday 3. Noskarf lotion alternate day and shampoo 4. No hair oiling Besides this I've also tried natural treatments like apple cider vinegar, curd etc Also with the usage of Hair4u 5%(minoxidil), the itchiness of scalp has increased quite a lot. I've tried so many things but couldn't see any result. Please help me what should I do to get rid of this problem and get my hair back. Thanks Vivek

Hi. Greetings. Seborrhoea capitis/ seborrhoiec dermatitis or dandruff is a chronic problem. Please note. Avoid using oils on scalp. This acts as food for  fungus causing dandruff. You can apply it only at the hair part and not the scalp for short durations if you wish to.  Secondly wash hair with antifungal / low strength corticosteroid based shampoos. Use maintenance shampoos regularly. You may need a course of oral antifungals if your condition is severe.  Since you have hair loss issues to discuss and some common side effects that may occur with lotions, i would suggest you to See a dermatologist near you. Hope this helps. Further queries may be sent on follow up messaging.Warm regards Dr Govind S Mittal. Excel care hospital, Bangalore.
