Haemoglobin HPLC test
I am 3 months pregnant right now. Doctor asked me to do Haemoglobin HPLC test. My test result suggests Haemoglobin E trait (Heterozygous state). I have normal F, moderately low A and elevated A2. Nothing other detected. A2 and E coelute and further capillary zone electrophoresis revealed the band at HbE zone. All other parameters are within normal limit. I found my husband's old report done in 2014. His Haemoglobin HPLC report suggests- chromatogram does not reveal any evidence of Beta Thalasemia or haemoglobinopathy and their carrier state. His Haemoglobin A is high and A2, F are within normal limits. Is there anything to worry?
