Botox injection helps in gustatory sweating. I do this in my clinic. The effects last about 6 months and procedure needs to be repeated. The sweating occurs because your tongue nerve fibres develop abnormal connection with your sweat glands nerve fibres (common after accidents when nerves are healing). So when you eat and your tongue taste fibres are stimulated, it indirectly makes the sweat glands start producing sweat. Botox blocks the chemical that is released from the nerves to activate sweat glands and muscles. Repeated sessions makes the effect last longer (upto 9 months). Please fix an appointment with me if you are interested I this procedure. You could search for my profile on Practo or Google. Warm regards. Dr. Rajdeep Mysore. Chirag Hospital Bangalore
