Sir, I got accident on 29 Dec 16 and my left hand elbow had been sustained grade 1 compound fracture supra consular humerus. I operated by close reduction method on 30th Dec 16. Till today I m not feeling well, healing process is also very slow. Hand is looking like as it was operation day. I am not able to do my daily routine work. From pain point of view, I m feeling little bit relief. Sir, Please advise me how to recover early , how many days it will take time in joining bone . What are the precautions, what are the diets. After how many days I will be able to join office.

Fractures take 8-12 weeks sometimes to heal. If it was an open fracture hopefully all infection has been taken care of. Were you in a plaster for all this time? If you were in plaster then the stiffness will take a long time to improve and resolve. If you are out of plaster an x-ray needs to be taken to look at the healing progress. Also physiotherapy is very important at this stage to help improve the movement of the elbow. The stiffness will take a long time to improve Take a balanced diet with diary products, fresh fruits and vegetables and good protein like dals,non-vegetarian food. If you upload the x-ray it will help give you better information. Hope this helps. Dr Vinu Raj Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon MBBS MRCS FRCS(Trauma&Orth)
