Sir I have smoked a total of approx 1000 cigarettes in my lifetime till now-maybe like 0.15 pack year.I regret this ,I am willing to immediately quit and I am still worried about my health. Can you clarify if it is reversible change to recover my lungs and heart to normal if I smoke no more from now on?( it is a total of 1000 cigarettes in my lifetime, not in last 1 year or something...)

That s a very good decision you have taken to quit smoking.  Yes, as your age is 21, your lung function may be restored to normal,  once you stop smoking. But you need to undergo some tests to know upto what extent the smoking has affected your lung function.consukt online for further evaluation

As you are young, if you completely quit now, you may be able to regain your normal lung function in 10 to 15 years as you have smoked a lot. However, do not feel depressed as you can overcome it with willpower and if not, medications can help you. Kindly consult.
