My OGCT 75gm glucose load test(2 hours after 75 gm glucose) valiey is 206. hba1c hplc is 5.5 hba1c mean plasma glucose is 119 mg/dl. I am in my 6th month of pregnancy and taking glycomet 250 twice daily. Are the values too high for GDM and how can I reduce it.

Ur 2 hrs fasting ogtt suggests that u have GDM. U need to be on 6 meals and off sugars and high carb high glycemic foods. Self monitoring of sugar. Fasting 2 hrs post breakfast 2 hrs post lunch pre dinner and post dinner. If the post meals are coming more than 150 we will need to adjust metformin dose and if with that also it's not controlled then we may need insulin

Hello.. 75 gm OGTT values fasting above 92,1hr above 180 and 2hr above 153 suggest GDM.. Targets in pregnancy for premeal 70 to 90 and post meals 2hr 70 to 120.... It is necessary for maternal and foetal well being.. U need to consult urgently Endocrinologist for the change in your prescription.. U can do it online nowadays.
