Gbs patient with braces query
Hello I am Harshita, I was diagnosed Gbs in 2013 and even today I am having foot drop in both ankles, I was on ventilator for 56 days and took abt an year to walk on my own.I just want to ask is it safe if GBS patient had tooth extraction. I was critical case and I am not sure whether or take these decision or not. Please help.

Guillain-Barre syndrome, associated with inflammation of peripheral nerves. Since it is a disabling polyneuropathy care must be taken during dental Extractions. Post Extraction care must also be accounted to to rule out bacterial endocarditis. Also, electromyograph could be recommended prior to Extractions. Therefore consult with a oral medicine specialist and then a oral Maxillofacial Surgeon to assist you better. Cheers
