I am having symptoms of air getting from mouth, stomach discomfort as if it is squeezed and when that squeezing is done, I am getting air from mouth, heart burn (very rarely), mild cough. Sometimes, I take air from mouth (whenever I do, above symptoms increases). I did USG abdomen and pelvis, nothing major came there. Is there anything wrong.

Aerophagia is a condition characterized by the excessive swallowing of air, which can lead to discomfort, bloating, and belching. It's a common cause of gas in the digestive system. It can cause excessive belching, abdominal discomfort, fullness & heartburn etc Management and Treatment: Dietary Changes: Avoiding carbonated beverages, chewing gum, and eating slowly can help reduce air swallowing. Behavioral Modifications: Practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, may help reduce stress-related aerophagia. Medical Evaluation: If aerophagia persists or is severe, consult a healthcare provider to rule out underlying medical conditions and receive appropriate treatment. Medication: In some cases, medications may be prescribed to manage symptoms such as acid reflux or bloating associated with aerophagia. Therapy: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or counseling may be beneficial for addressing underlying psychological factors contributing to aerophagia.
