Frequent ulcer and cold
Hello Doctors, My friend has been experiencing frequent mouth ulcers, catching cold too frequently. She has also got sore throat as well and runny nose. There is no fever. Earlier she had taken azithromycin for 3 days and montair-lc. So, Is it due to low immunity or something else ? I informed her to consider becosules capsule, orasore gel and try taking isabgol with mishri(rock sugar) for its cooling property. Could you suggest some medicines or advices ? Thanks.

Hello I'm Dr Nikita Iyer. Frequent episodes of cold with itchy throat and nose could be a sign of allergic rhinitis. A complete cure to allergy is however not there as it is a body's response to allergens but symptomatic control can be done by visiting an ENT doctor for a thorough examination.
Next Steps
Visit the ENT for a thorough examination and to be started on nasal spray and antihistaminic course. For recurrent ulcers, this could be due to a vitamin deficiency and hence starting on multivitamins like becousles is a good suggestion as well as orasore gel or zytee gel . Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels can be tested. For allergy, Skin prick test to isolate the allergen along with serum IgE and total eosinophil count can be done.
Health Tips
Make sure to avoid common triggers like wear a mask while travelling in dusty environments or when exposed to strong smells Wash your hands prior to touching your face if working in water or a dusty environment. Avoid staying in air conditioned spaces for prolonged durations Avoid hot and spicy food which might aggravate the ulcers

Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT It may be due to recurrent viral infections, allergic rhinitis, or nutritional deficiency (Vit B-complex, iron, folate) leading to lowered local immunity.
Next Steps
Continue Becosules once daily for 2–3 weeks. Use Orasore gel locally for pain relief. Maintain good hydration and avoid spicy foods. Steam inhalation twice daily and saline nasal rinse may help reduce nasal symptoms.
Health Tips
If symptoms persist >10 days or recur frequently, get CBC, serum B12, and allergy profile done and consult nearby ENT doctor for evaluation of recurrent infections or allergy.
