Formula milk
Hello Doctor, my baby is 2 months and we are asked to give nan Pro 1 30 ml for one feed and breastmilk for another, so alternatively. This is due to her weight loss. Her birth weight is 2.88kg now she is 2.83kg. My concern is she is crying a lot after formula for breastfeed. Shall we give 20ml formula + breastfeed for every feed. So that she will be satisfied. Pls advice.

I will recommend only breast feeding or expressed breast milk to feed the baby. If there is any problem in breast feeding technique then correct after consulting pediatrician.
Next Steps
general physical examination is needed to rule out other causes of weight loss

If your pediatrician has checked for all reasons of not gaining weight, and feels feeding is the only concern: 1) Breastfeeding: do you have a painful latch while baby feeds? How long does a feed last and are you able to hear baby swallow? If you are doubtful about any of the above, meet a lactation consultant. 2)Top up feed: will need 90-150 ml per feed at this age. If you have a breast pump, you can pump after each feed and give as much as you can, of breastmilk. If not able to meet the need, give formula as extra.
Next Steps
I would strongly recommend assessment of breastfeeding by a lactation consultant.

Breast feeding should be given and if child is stilll hungry due to inadequate amount of breast milk, she should be fed formula milk. As child has lost weight rather than gaining weight which is alarming. You should seek Pediatrician help, online or offline.

First try breastfeed and after every breast feed give formula on demand which may 30-40 or even higher depending on acceptance . If baby is accepting well and not regurgitating , wait till the baby demands again . Try to keep gap of atleast 3 hrs , if baby is demanding early u can increase volume accordingly .
