Formula feeding
Is Similac iq a good formula ? How much to be given for a 54 days old baby ? I've been breastfeeding but suddenly from 2 days milk is very low and he keeps crying and dint sleep from 2 days whole day and night. I was prescribed to give similac iq after delivery but dint give him till now. So I would lyk to kno about the quantity to be given and if it's a good one and doesn't cause much gas

Yes that formula can be given. But try to sought out the reason for insufficient milk secretion . First - is the milk really insufficient? If the child passes urine 6-8 times , sleeps for few hours after feed and gains weight adequately then the feed is adequate..then you have to find other  reasons for crying. Second - if it is insufficient then what can be done for that ? Mother has to be stress free..have adequate amount of water, proper diet..and before giving formula baby should be allowed to suck mother's milk every time.. And night time direct feeding is very important for milk secretion..

All formulas are more or less same. Mother's feed is the only best food for a baby. Try to sort out y breast milk has suddenly stopped

If baby passes urine more than 6 to 8 times in 24 hour, that means baby gets adequate milk but cries for other reasons..try not to give formula
