For Venous ulcers and vein issues
My liver was transplanted in 2021 in UAE FOR the autoimmune hepatitis disease . I am on immunosuppressive medication. My liver tests are fine, but I have swelling in my legs and suffering from venous ulcers and  atopic dermatitis . I feel my legs heavy and painful after standing for a while. Which treatments are best, and which doctors should I consult?

You need to consult a vascular surgeon after getting an Arteriovenous Doppler which could help in nothing what the actual issue is. Basic opinion can be given but it's best to consult a specialist directly

Hello 🙏 Since your liver tests are normal after transplant, the leg swelling, heaviness, and venous ulcers are most likely due to chronic venous insufficiency, not liver-related. Immunosuppressive medicines can also worsen skin problems like atopic dermatitis. Best treatment: Compression stockings Leg elevation and regular walking Proper ulcer dressing and skin care Topical treatment for dermatitis as advised Doctors to consult: Vascular surgeon Dermatologist Continue follow-up with your transplant/hepatology team
Health Tips
Caution: Avoid prolonged standing Do not self-medicate, especially steroid creams Get early care if ulcers worsen or get infected

In your case, though you have had liver transplantation, your complaints are most likely due to venous insufficiency because your legs are painful and heavy after standing for a while but not even while you are at rest and you don’t have any other symptoms (assuming so because you have mot mentioned any.) Even then, along with regular LFT, you can also get certain other tests like serum albumin, INR, abdominal ultrasound, colour doppler of both lower limbs.

It suggests chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) with secondary venous ulcers, possibly worsened by long-term medications and reduced mobility.
