Folic acid and cancer growth
I have been asked tp take folvite 5mg once a day as planning for pregnancy. But recently after reading certain medical journals i found thay folic acid consumption can risk cancer growth later, also it is not given to cancer patients. As it may change DNA properties. Plz suggest is folvite 5mg harmful? Does taking it regularly may cause cancer growth by any chance? Or folic acid may help to prevent cancer growth. It is very confusing. Plz help.

Folic acid supplement is required during pregnancy to prevent neural tubal defects  in the child. There are no trials to suggest that folic acid intake will lead to development of denovo cancer. There are lot of nonsense articles in the internet which you should just let go after you read. Please talk to your doctors directly if you have any queries.
