I was playing basketball last Thursday when my left ring finger hit the ball. I immediately felt pain and it started swelling pretty fast. It hurts to bend it, but it only hurts when I straighten it all the way. When I try to bend it I feel like a pull.

Hi, first of all ice the area every few hours
Tie the finger with adjacent finger to immobilise it
It's better to visit orthopedic to rule out sprain or fracture
See if with ice and taping swelling and pain subsides
After acute injury part needs rest
