Filariasis leg
Hi, My mother is having filariasis in her left leg. She is using some homeopathy medicine. She feel free when using medicine and if she stop medicine for few days she will get pain if she do some extra work. Please suggest a good treatment or medication.

See man you need to start her on few medicines with some supportive treatment. Hope it's a lab confirmed filariasis. Treatment: 1.Tab Diethylcarbamazine(banocide fort)100 mg 1-1-1 ( 3 times in a day after food) for 3 week's. 2.Tab pantop D-sr one's empty stomach in the morning for 15 day's. 3. Elevate the leg at night by putting pillow under the leg. 4. Use elastocrepe bandage during day time. 5. Wash the affected part twice daily with soap and water. 6. Regularly working the foot up and down to promote lymph flow. 7. Keep the nails clean. 8. If fever then give tab paracetamol 650 mg  sos. 9. Do leg massage with oil  everyday. 10. Use mosquito repellent and mosquito nets.
