Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . you can give syp meftal p for high grade fever
Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever.
Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial.
Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Hi. This looks like a viral fever. Viral fever usually takes 5-7 days to settle. Many children will have fever for all 5 days. So it will settle by today or tomorrow not to worry. Give him paracip 250 syrup 3ml every 6 hours once. If he has stuffy nose use Nasivion S drops 2 drops each nostril as and when required.
It will settle within 2-3 days max 5 days
Health Tips
If fever persists beyond 5 days we have to plan antibiotics. In case child is extremely drowsy or inactive or if child is not able to take anything orally including fluids then please take to nearby Pediatrician
