Fever in 3 month old baby
Hello, My 3 month old baby has been suffering from fever since yesterday. We have consulted a pediatrician already. As per the consultation we have given her paracetamol,  amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate and a cough syrup. Paracetamol has been given to her 4 times in the last 24 hrs. Still the fever is around 99-100. The doctor has also prescribed Flexon suspension to be given in case the fever does not come down. I want to know if we can give flexon in 99-100 fever? What else can we do to bring down fever naturally. We are very worried. Please assist.

For an infant, if fever spikes above 100F in the armpit comes for more than 2 episodes then need to go for blood reports. If it is between 99 to 100F, encourage more feeds. Paracetamol is right for temp above 100F, no need of flexon. Danger signs: not taking feeds, irritable or lethargic, fast breathing, fever above 100F more than 1 day

Don’t give anything for her fever if her temperature is 101F, do tepid sponging over head, dont mop hands and feet. Avoid hypothermia. Dont overclothe the baby. If temp is still >101F, then only give Flexon. If you have to repeat flexon dose, in between 2 doses of flexon at least 8hrs gap should be there

Tepid sponging Maintain hydration Continue flexon Go for blood investigation Watch for vitals(urine output/urine color/blood in stool/fever/activity)....if deterioration present do follow u p *General danger sign* (the child is not able to drink . the child vomits everything .the child has had convulsions .the child is lethargic or unconscious). Most children with a general danger sign need URGENT referral to hospital/physical meet with pediatrician for review.
