Fever and loss of appetite
We consulted a general physician as nearby no paediatrician not there. She had fever doctor prescribed antibiotics (cefixime and lactic acid bacillus) with paracetamol acelofenac suspension. She slept a more so that her paracetamol dose were not regular. Sometimes her fever comes then goes away with paracetamol. It's 7th day now for viral fever. What to do? When temperature is less she is playful otherwise very fussy. Appetite is very low.

Hello, how are you? This is your first child! I want to tell you to avoid unnecessary medication, Don't use unnecessary antibiotics. Do not use diclofenac in any form. It damages kidneys. For fever or any severe pain, use only Paracetamol 15mg /kg weight. one dose whenever needed, 2--3 times a day. This for your future guidance. Any cough or ear ache? Now to continue paracetamol (Crocin). give three doses maximum. Now we talk on antibiotics, How many days you have given? If you have given already for 5 days, she has not responded, stop it. Now focus on nutrition. What feeds are you giving? what ever you are giving is not enough.. are you breast feeding still? If , yes, continue till child is alright. If no, add semisolids nutrients ,like khichri, dal, idli, banana, egg. Start with item small amount, increase daily, add a new item every week. Banana is very good food, you have diarrhea it gets better, ifit is constipation, it is good,
