Fever and Blood Sugar
My baby is 2 weeks old and premature (34 week born). She has had fever for 5 days. The doctor has checked the blood and has done the culture blood test. The result shows there is no infection. The doctor said that probably she had poor temperature regulation and she needed time to adapt the new environment. Moreover, the blood sugar is not so stable. Sometimes, it drops to 46 and then after few hours goes up to77. Please give me some advice. Thanks

these issues are commonly seen with premature babies. is the child admitted in NICU?on antibiotics or IV fluids? what was the birth weight? is she is taking oral feeds or not? Poor temperature regulation is a sign of poor perfusion so that cannot be a reason for this, if there are poor perfusion then child must be having some infection even if tests are normal, we need to treat it like infection.
