Good day Friend.  I can understand your concern. Feelings like anger,  short temper,  irritation,  frustration, hurtful speech, mood swings,  crying etc are expression or outbursts of long term stress in your mind.  These stress  may be caused by failures in your personal or professional life. Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. I appreciate you for coming out and taking the first step in your mental health journey, it takes strength and courage. From what you've said it sounds like you are very disturbed recently, and you overwhelmed with lots of emotions. All these symptoms that you've mentioned can be due to many reasons of which only you would be aware of. And also it can be resulting from the current pandemic situation - confined at home, little or no exposure to outside world, working/studying from home, distance from social world, etc. You might be stressed and worn out due to this pandemic and your emotions are completely valid :) Few things that you can try to manage your concerns: 1. Journaling - Try to write down your thoughts whenever you feel stressed, or whenever you feel angry and want to hurt yourself. Journaling helps to vent your emotions, thoughts and also helps to reflect on why you feel this way and what could be the possible reasons. 2. Talk to someone - You can talk to your friends/family/loved ones about your concerns and share your experience. It would feel better to get the burden off and you would also feel relaxed for the time being. You would get a objectified/third person perspective for your concerns because when we are emotional/overwhelmed, we might not be able to think clearly. 3. Mindfulness - Being actively present or being focused at the present moment helps in managing the unpleasant thoughts which in-turn helps to reduce your stress. There are many mindfulness techniques and practicing them daily helps in manifesting mindfulness in your daily life. 5-4-3-2-1 technique - name five things you can see, four things you can hear, three things you can touch, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste. 4. Try breathing exercises to make yourself calmer. 4-7-8 breathing exercise - inhale for 4 counts, hold your breath for 7 counts and exhale for 8 counts. This can be very useful when your anger goes to peak. 5. Seek therapy -Therapy/counseling helps to vent your thoughts/emotions in a safe and a non-judgmental space and also process it with the help of a professional. You would be able to unravel your negative/irrational thought patterns and figure a beneficial way out to manage them Hope this helps :) Take care!
