Fasting blood sugar
Dear sir , i checked fasting blood sugar after 30 min exercise , it recorded as 82 , will it be good , is it right way to check after 30 min brisk walk

Hello there I understand your concern.... The “fasting blood glucose” test must have the individual fasting for at least 8 hours. Normal levels for this test are 70 to 100 mg/dL...I don't think you have fallowed it...When you exercise your muscles need more glucose to supply energy. In response, your liver increases the amount of glucose it releases into your bloodstream. Remember, however, that the glucose needs insulin in order to be used by your muscles. So if you do not have enough insulin available, your blood glucose levels can actually increase right after exercise...so its not good to measure fbs after exercise... Regards.

immediately after exercise your glucose values may increase/decrease depending upon your initial glucose reserve in the body.it is not the right way to check glucose.

atleast 8hours fasting is required for normal person.better to have early morning fasting sample after 4.00AM.visit family physician for screening cholesterol,diabetes,hypertension annualy

continue daily brisk walk. exercise atleast 30-40 min for about 3-4 days/week prevents diabetes,hypertension and many other cardio vascular diseases
