I think a pediatric opthalmologist is right person to answer this query. But still as far as my knowledge goes, one has to use specs so as to avoid further worsening. Child might present as non interested in studies and surrounding as they see everything hazy. Now a days we get kid friendly specs which are break resistant and even flexible.
