This meibomitis, or swelling of lower lid sebaceous gland due to blockage, cause hormonal changes. Young persons are prone to repeated swelling like this. Before allowing it to grow and cause pain, swelling and other symptoms, as a first measure, apply focused hot compresses with ear bud at the site of maximum swelling for 2 to 3 minutes. After that pain will be slightly reduced. Gentle massage with finger tip over the area of maximum swelling will allow the blocked sebaceous gland contents, oily substance, to come out. If you are not successful in the first attempt, do not worry. Keep doing hot compresses 2 times a day.
Antibiotics are not necessary. But use of capsule (Tablet) Doxycycline 100 mg a day 1/2 hour before lunch or tabAzithromycin 500 mg in adults once a day help in making the oily secretions less turbid and become liquidy. And also probable antibiotic action, not important.
If pain is severe, use some anti inflammatory agents for once or twice.
Role oily food is not established but avoid.
