Eye floaters and flash
My mom is 50+ years old and she is at native place. One sudden day she started seeing some strange shapes floating on her eye sight with sudden flash of light. Immediately she consulted an eye hospital. after the checkup , they told no issues with eye nerves but it could be because of some gel in eye getting liquified. They provided some eye drops and medicines and suggested to consult them within 2-3 weeks if floater doesn't go away. what should be the next level of treatment in case floaters stays ? its really a scary situation and she is slightly diabetic.

from your description it looks like she is developing a posterior vitreous detachment which implies separation of the retina & vitreous. (jelly of the retina). The flashes may be a symptom of retinal tear or retinal traction i.e pull. You need to watch for occurence of retinal detachment. So watch out for increase in the frequency of flashes, sudden increase in floaters & segmental vision loss. As the doctor has said you have no retinal lesion as of now you need not worry. floater may not disappear but she has to learn to ignore them. Close retinal follow up for next 6 months or till the posterior vitreous detachment is complete
