Floaters are moving shadows. They may not disappear. Shift your gaze to a colourful object to distract your mind. Move your eyes and not neck. Floaters are generally seen prominently when there is a mono tonic background and light is coming from front. Accept them as they are and your anxiety will reduce. Signs of concern are a sudden increase in size or number of floaters, flashes of light, lightning streaks or a veil coming in front of eyes. Regular retinal examination is important say every 6 months.

Don't worry if you are having less than 4 to 5 floaters. These are usually seen in every individual when they see against white background or open sky at day time.  You have to be worried only when the floater count increases and obscuring your vision, if they are increasing immediately consult Retina specialist for Dilated fundus (retinal) examination. And follow there advice.

Usually floaters are nonpathological, you have to learn to omit them but please get your fundus examination done by an ophthalmologist first to rule out the possibility of retinal problem.
