Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT Your symptoms of persistent throat wetness, a sensation of something stuck after meals, frequent throat clearing, mucus in the throat, burping, and a runny nose are most consistent with laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR)—a condition where stomach acid or non-acid reflux reaches the throat and causes irritation—and possibly post-nasal drip from allergy or sinus inflammation. These two problems often occur together, leading to chronic throat discomfort and coughing. To confirm the diagnosis, it is best to visit an ENT specialist for a detailed throat and nasal examination, often with a nasoendoscopy or laryngoscopy, which can show signs of reflux irritation or nasal drainage.
