Erectile Dysfunction
Hello Doctor, I am 31 year old working in IT sector. I got married 5 months back. Initially I got my erections normally but I was not able to penetrate my wife. I have tried many times but failed to penetrate. However, for the past 1 month my libido has decreased, it seems like I lost interest in my wife. But I get normal erections while trying to masturbate. I consulted an urologist and took an injection test & tablet test. The doctor told the erections are normal and you will be able to penetrate. But even after taking the Viagra tablet once, I didn't get my erections when I was about to have the intercourse. I think something's wrong with my mind, because I have erectile dysfunction only at the thought of having sex with my wife. I am deeply disturbed by these happenings. Please advice me or prescribe any tablets.

Hi, You are probably having performance anxiety which is now affecting your libido. You have to consult your urologist or a sexual counsellor along with your partner to sort things out. I think giving too much importance to intercourse is not proper. You have to have intimacy and adequate foreplay. Ask your partner to help you achieve an erection or masturbate in her presence. Gradually as the inhibition goes medicines will help you. Your partner needs to understand and have patience. Also continue taking long acting viagra like medications on your urologist' s advice. Good luck.
