Epidermoid Cyst

I have an Epidermoid Cyst on my forehead. I don't want surgery to remove it because of a scar. It isn't that big but it shows clearly a bump in the light. Recently I have beenn putting hot compress for 10 minutes and then rubbing it down and putting wrapped ice on my head. It seems to go down alot but it then comes back and has made the skin on my forehead there damaged. I just wanted to know if there was any better home solution or if I just have to get surgery and live with a scar
