Hello. A complete blood count(CBC) determines the value of platelets in the blood.
Other tests like tests for blood clotting time and bleeding time. , blood smear, bone marrow biopsy are recommended
ITP or idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura as the name suggest is auto immune disorder of the platelets . There is auto immune reaction in the body where antibodies are formed against platelets
Treatment:- If the platelets are very low then corticosteroids are given, platelet transfusion helps, intravenous immunoglobulin are given in severe bleeding
