Hi... Please answer few questions :-
1. Were both of you living in a Residential Institute Campus away from your home towns when this relationship happened?
2. Did you came into a relationship to avoid being alone or not without an emotional support?
3. Did he always had romantic feelings about you or they developed after spending so much time with you?
There is no right or wrong in such situations. We are humans and we act based on our needs and impulses. That relationship was serving some purpose for both of you that's why it developed and it was necessary for both of you to grow. Now, maybe it not serving any purpose for either or both of you so it is falling apart.
We can't make someone, or even ourselves, love the other person. What we can do best is to be honest about our feelings, within ourselves and with the other person about what we can or can't do for the other person in a given scenario.
Judgments and regrets are a human condition which may not be completely avoided. They can only be moderated with honesty and commitment.
