Sir, after hair transplant , what is the effect on previously present hairs (on top of head- in recipient area on front side of scalp/ hair line)?
What is the time period that previously existing hair in recipient area remain ? (as the internal hormonal activity will cause the previously existing hair to slowly fade away?) In such case, what is the remedy?

Greetings. This is indeed a good question and important to understand for any patient planned for hair transplant surgery. The existing hair in recipient area will indeed be prone to effect of progressing andro genetic alopecia. Therefore, continuation of minoxidil +/- finasteride is needed even after hair transplant surgery. Discuss the details of the same with your operating surgeon. Further queries may be sent on follow up messaging. Warm regards
