Hello, First of all Wishing you all the very best for your pregnancy... In pregnancy please follow certain protocol like 1. No Raw food 2. No un washed fruits or vegetables 3. Un cooked or partly cooked meat or chicken or fish is not acceptable. 4. Artificial colours, artificial flavour & artificial taste is to be avoided.. 5. Some vegetables & fruit are totally myth about pregnancy Nutrition,  but since it's a matter of happiness, the age old advice may be abide by but 6. Animal protein & plant proteins must be there in your diet plan For personalised diet plan you can contact me at Practo online consultation, or Google search Dietitian Souvik Chakraborty and team For further information and questions. 24x7 Support would be provided over telephone or whatsapp by Best Dietitian in Kolkata & Nation. It has tons of benefits 1.improves immunity 2.reduces risk of hypertension 3.regulates cholesterol 4.improves rbc's 5 reduces risk of gestational diabetes. 6.helps regulate electrolyte balance Having said that it could have potential side effects too if not  washed well as it grows in soil rich in toxoplasmosis which can lead to premature delivery. Hence washing it with a vegetable wash thoroughly is recommended. If you have been previously allergic to it then it's best to avoid. Cook it really well before consuming. Try not to repeat the vegetable too many times in a week.
