I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat, MS ENT. As you mentioned, you underwent a Type I Tympanoplasty on 26th March 2025, which makes it 22 days post-surgery today. Regarding the yellowish discharge you’ve observed — this could either be normal cerumen (earwax) from the ear canal or possibly residual gel or material placed during surgery, which sometimes presents similarly.
Next Steps
There is no immediate cause for concern, but I strongly recommend visiting your operating surgeon for a proper evaluation, as they are most familiar with your case and surgical details.
Health Tips
Please remember to keep your ear dry, and in my opinion, keeping cotton in the ear at all times is not advisable, as it can trap moisture and increase the risk of infection. Wishing you a smooth and healthy recovery.
