Dry chapped lips
My skin has always been extremely dry, often causing peeling at various places despite regular application of various moisturizing creams. But lately, this condition has spread to my lips as well. My lips are now dry and chapped all the time, and the skin on and around the lip area keeps peeling. I have to apply Vaseline, or Boroline almost every hour without which my lips dry out immediately and causes extreme discomfort. Moreover, the dryness has also darkened my lips which is quite embarrassing. Kindly advise if this is due to some underlying condition and what remedial action can be taken.

Venusia Max lotion or Cetaphil lotion or Aquasoft lotion or Episoft lotion can be used if it is just routine dryness. however an examination would be needed to make sure there is no other coexisting condition along with other underlying cause for the increased dryness. The cause for the pigmentation needs to be determined. Smoking is one of the common causes for darkened lips. Stop smoking if you smoke. The darkness can also be present because of nutritional causes OR because of inflammatory conditions(like seborrheic or perioral dermatitis) OR with a superadded component of perleche. A proper detail examination would be required to try to assess and identify the culprit cause. Also you can use Chaptex lip balm twice a day(or even more frequently like 5-6 times if needed... also wet your lips with water prior to applying the balm..) for a few months. Get an online consult privately with pictures or meet a dermatologist directly for a proper evaluation of the condition. Hope this was helpful. Hope this was helpful.
