Drug deaddiction
My elder brother is suffering from some kind of psychosis, I feel. He has been an abuser of marijuana/ganja since 2015. Due to such long term abuse he is having some behavioural problems, some speech changes as well such as rapid, talkative, etc., Urinary frequency, anti social and disruptive, weakness, lethargy, lack of interest in day to day activities at home. Due to all these my family is facing a lot of problems. Daily fights have become so common. And he never talk what is going in his mind or what is he thinking. He is 25 years old. If anyone could suggest us what to do in this case that would be really helpful. Thank you.

Please consult a psychiatrist before this develops into a full blown psychotic illness. Fortunately, treatment is now possible with some wonderful medicines.

Sir detail history regarding past and present use of marijuana is required. Its frequency, quantity, history of any other drug use should also be evaluated. He problems you are facing could be: Drug related intoxicated behaviours Drug withdrawal behaviours Drug induced personality changes Drug induced mood disorder or psychosis. Any any of the combination above or any other independent mental health issue aggrevated by drug use. So a detailed history and mental status examination of your brother is needed to come to conclusion. Please consult a psychiatrist for definite diagnosis. Hope this helps.
