Drop of TSH level and cough for 2 months
My mother is a thyroid and diabetic patient. Her TSH level was 7.97 two months ago and she had cough for two months. Then she consulted a doctor and increase the power of medicine 100 to 125.Now cough is little less than previous days and recently her TSH level got down to 0.29 after taking 125power of medicine. So, which power of medicine will be good for her ? And My concern was that my mother had been coughing for two months.I've heard that coughing for the thyroid is not a good thing.Although the cough has subsided a bit. I would like to ask if it could be a matter of concern in the future.? And now how much power thyroid medicine to take.?

According to her thyroid report her TSH is normal but would like to keep it between 1 and 5 so in that case she can change dose to 112.5 mcg which may b ideal for her. Coughing and thyroid are not directly related although if she has a goiter which might cause cough on and off but nothing serious. Many reason for cough if it’s more then 2 weeks need to a chest x ray and consult doctor.
