I am 39 and 18 weeks pregnant. I was asked for tests regarding down syndrome. The scan report said there was no problem with my child. Should I still take the amniocentesis test? Is there a chance that my baby will be having down syndrome? Will that be serious? Will it make me abort my child?

The only way to confirm downs syndrome is by chromosome analysis, possible only by amniocentesis.
But that has its own risks too, you'll have to take an informed decision, plz discuss it thoroughly with your gynaecologist.
