Hello there Lung maturity injection are steriods injection. They are not harmful for baby. They help the baby in better maturation of the lungs. May be u could be having some history/risk factors which could Cause pre term delivery. So to prevent further complications to yr baby, this injection may have been planned to give u. Yes steroids are given to mature baby lungs. But indicated only if there is possibility of preterm delivery.  No role in your case.  Not to be given routinly for every patients without any induction
