Hello, a friend of mine had a suspected dog bite last month and then she was told to get four shots of rabies vaccine. She took the first three near her place but the fourth one had to be taken elsewhere as we were not near her place. However, we think this fourth one was not the same brand name as the three previous ones. I have to ask whether this makes any difference in terms of protection or should she still take a fifth does, but this time of the brand of vaccine she taken initially and not the different brand one. Kindly help.

Brand names matter because vaccine for rabies can be of different types.
Again dose numbering depends on site and type of injection process as well. There are a lot of ifs and buts hence talk to a doctor with the vaccine details.
