hello there. Nipple discharge or as we doctors call it galactorrhea happens to a lot of females in the child bearing age. there are many potential caused of whitish nipple discharge. if your nipple discharge is coming from both the breasts, can be easily expressed out, and is white clear or milky you don't need to worry. but if its coming from only one breast, is spontaneous, is brown or bloody or if it is associated with a breast mass then you need to b worried a little. whether the discharge is serious or not you shouldn't take it lightly and visit your doctor ASAP. the possible causes would include but are not limited to - pregnancy, hormonal abnormalities, lactation or post partum, trauma and Brest manipulation, stress, certain medications etc. surgeon should be able to help you further. regards, Dr Anil Jain
