Diffuse cerebral atrophy
My uncle admitted to hospital yesterday done CT scan . report says Diffuse cerebral atrophy and chronic small vessel escamic changes in bilateral periventricular and subcortical white matter. He was exposed to heat due to traveling to pilgrimage. He had vomiting.Now he is forgetting things while talk and talking very older things. Need opinion.

Diffuse cerebral atrophy of the brain is common in old age people indicates generalized loss of brain cells  which may result in impairment of memory and intellectual functioning.Reasons are plenty including old stroke, movement disorders , Alzheimer's,old injuries .You have not mentioned the reason why he is admitted in the hospital.Morever any pre-existing conditions greatly influence the condition. there's no specific cure for it , symptomatic and supportive therapy are very important.
