Yes there is a difference between Fasting plasma glucose and capillary glucose measured Capillary blood glucose is 5% higher than Venus plasma glucose Capillary glucose is used for home monitoring Venus glucose measurements for the hospital setting, arterial glucose for critically ill patients and in operation theatre monitoring. Well there is difference in Glucometer VS Lab measurements and it’s is around +\-12mg/dl For clinical (diagnosis and management of Diabetes)uses it’s Venus plasma glucose considered.
Health Tips
Don’t use Glucometer values for Diagnosis, it’s only for monitoring at home and screening at mass leave .
