What should my wife'sA1C (Hemoglobin A1C) be while she is pregnant? She is now 4 months pregnant and is a diabetes patient for the past 5 years.

It is the daily blood sugar targets that are more important in managing diabetes during pregnancy rather than HBA1C. She should be checking her blood sugars daily before and one hour after food and will need to see a well qualified diabetolgist regularly so that that blood sugars are well controlled and pregnancy goes on smoothly.
