Diabetes eye care
Respected Doctors, My father aged 58years old has been suffering from diabetes from last 20 years approximately. He has undergone Retina Laser surgery to correct as some spot was notice near his eyes 3years  ago. He has both myopia and hypermyteropia of - 1.5 & +0.75. He has problem in differentiating some objects. What are the eye care routine that he must observed to preserve his eye from diseases resulting from diabetes ? Is there any special eye drop for him to observe? Since due to complete lockdown, no eye care hospital is opened for OPD section. I request you for your help.

- Very strict control of diabetes - Depending on the severity please visit your Ophthalmologist for dilated ocular evaluation every 3/6 months - Regular exercise - Healthy diabetic diet - Adequate good sleep for about 6-8 hours everyday - Any lubricant like CMC 1% eye drop 4-5 times a day

Sir follow the below given instructions: (1) Strict control of Diabetes (2) Healthy nutritious diet (3) Adequate sleep for at least 7-8 hours (4) Adequate water intake at least 3-4 litres / day (5) Six monthly dilated Retina examination (6) Regular spectacles use (7) Daily exercise (8) Start with Eyedrops Genteal 1 drop 3 times a day. It provides soothing comfort to the eyes. (9) Whenever safely possible next meet any nearby Ophthalmologist for detailed refraction, slit lamp examination of anterior segment especially lens status for Cataract and for dilated Retina examination.
