Developing Pneumonitis
I had my chest xray yesterday for an employment requirement and the results came in with this remarks increased right basal marking (pneumonitis?), non specific. What does this means? I have asthma since I was a kid. Is this related to this results? Am I developing pneumonitis? What to do? Please help. Thank you so much

Hi Pneumonitis is the reaction of our lung tissue for the response to irritation. That irritation may be viral, allergic, asthma or due to infection. In your scenario it might be due to allergy.  If you have more symptoms take a CT chest. Or else we can observe for4 weeks and review.

It could be cough accumulating in the airways because of asthma or you having some sort of infection . Please show a chest physician. You need to be examined.

Hi. I understand your concern s. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigation like pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of asthma. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest
