Dermoid cyst in left ovary and uterus...
Hi, I have dermoid cyst in my left ovary and uterus. It was diagnosed in December, due to few commitments and travelling I haven't been able to undergo a surgery. Initially I had no symptoms at all but from last 2-3 days I have slight pain in left side and feel pressure in lower abdomen. Considering these symptoms how long can I postpone the surgery further??? Is it dangerous or fatal??? Will it harm the ovary to the extent where they will remove the ovary itself ??

No one can predict when can dermoid cyst pose an emergency situation. Typically, removing a dermoid cyst is not an emergency procedure. If a dermoid cyst ruptures, becomes inflamed, or causes pain or fever, a person should seek immediate medical advice. Depending on the severity of pain or discomfort, a person might also consider visiting a hospital’s emergency department.
