Depression amisulpridie50 augmentation
I had very severe suicidal depression for 2 years but with time, meds, exercise, cbt etc, I'm much better but unable to get back to my previous self which is confident. I'm just living day by day and trying to manage my life with mild symptoms and meds side effects like low libido, gastritis. My psychiatrist told me that most people have to manage their symptoms in severe depression. I thought of changing psychiatrist and he gave amisulpridie50 and I consulted on practo he also gave me same. Both said it's dysthymia, but I had severe depression once which is not getting alright. I have taken it earlier. Does it help in recovery? Should I take it again? I don't want to keep taking new meds. Help

Yes probably you are suffering from mod to severe chronic or recurrent depression as you were suicidal once and may be now also. But I think your history should be clarified to confirm the type of depression you have then only a psychiatrist can plan a treatment. To me, still there are many options as you were most probably inadequately treated. So you should not give up your hope. Please consult an experienced neuropsychiatrist who can properly guide you. Along with medical management you should consult a clinical psychologist for CBT.
